Inspired by the enduring mystery of the lost city of Atlantis, the AWAKE Atlantis Blue is a striking addition to the brand’s celebrated Sơn Mài – Silver Leaf collection. Limited to just 100 pieces worldwide, this watch showcases the extraordinary artistry of traditional Vietnamese lacquer work combined with contemporary Swiss watchmaking.

The dial draws the eye into a deep oceanic gradient, transitioning from luminous blue tones into darker depths. Each one is entirely handcrafted, layering Vietnamese lacquer, pure silver leaf, and natural pigments to create a rich vignette effect reminiscent of classic watch dials from the 1970s and 1980s.

The result is a dial with remarkable depth and texture, capturing the interplay between light and shadow — an evocative tribute to the myth of Atlantis and the unexplored worlds beneath the ocean.

Handcrafted Artistic Dial

Each Atlantis Blue dial is produced by master lacquerers in Hanoi using the traditional Sơn Mài lacquer technique. Through meticulous layering of lacquer, pigments, and silver leaf, artisans create a smoky gradient that draws light toward the centre of the dial.

This delicate process requires over ten hours of craftsmanship per dial, ensuring that every piece possesses subtle variations and a unique visual character.

A Distinctive Luminous Signature

AWAKE’s exclusive luminous design enhances the dial’s depth while maintaining a refined appearance in daylight. The indices and hands are built on a thin Super-LumiNova® BGW9 base, topped with polished, faceted steel elements.

In low light, the dial transforms dramatically, revealing a subtle backlit glow that highlights the layered textures beneath.

Swiss Movement by La Joux-Perret

Powering the Atlantis Blue is the La Joux-Perret G101 automatic movement, known for its reliability and impressive 68-hour power reserve.

Visible through the sapphire caseback, the movement is complemented by a custom tungsten oscillating rotor, featuring a combination of sandblasted, polished, and micro-blasted finishes.

Handcrafted French Strap

The watch is paired with a rich “Peacock” blue suede calfskin strap, handmade in Franche-Comté, France, the historic heart of French watchmaking. Produced through more than 60 meticulous steps, the strap features tone-on-tone stitching and a rubberised calf lining for enhanced comfort and durability.
